Summary: A first meeting that changes Roy's life forever. (set at the end of New Teen titans 21 (1986))
Her skin soft and delicate under his touch, her scent intoxicating in a way he had never known. The feelings that flared in his heart were almost painful in their intensity, so unlike any feelings he had ever felt before.
He found himself drawn into her perfect eyes, unable to look away even for a brief moment in case this reality became a dream that would fade away with the morning light.
The feel of her body so soft and warm in his arms..held close to his chest, near to his heart, was the most awe inspiring sensation he had ever experienced. He never wanted this moment to end, he never wanted to leave her. But end it would have to, and leave her he must.
"I have to go now baby girl, but I'll be back." he whispered the promise against her soft baby cheek, then turned to reluctantly pass his precious bundle to her mother who stood waiting impatiently for him to leave.
He swallowed at the lump of despair that had formed in his throat, pushed down the sadness that mingled with the joy in his heart, took one final longing look at his child and turned to leave. This may have been their first meeting, but in his heart he knew it would never be their last.
